Baez lends her gorgeous pipes to a program of Christmas carols here, including "O Come Oh Come Emmanuel", "Carol of the Birds", and "Silent Night". Peter Schickele (best known the the world as the comedic P.D.Q. Bach) conducts the backing, which uses recorders, violas, lute, harpsichord, organ, winds, strings and percussion. In addition to music there is dialogue and narration by Johnny Cash. Tracks include "King of Love", "Christmas As I Knew It", "When You're Twenty One", "King of Love" and "Silent Night." • Lanza, Mario-Sings Christmas Carols- LP- mono-RCA LM 2029 - 1956 33 1/3 RPM LP release by vocalist Mario Lanza. Lanza lends his golden operatic pipes to a program of Christmas music here. Songs include "The Lord's Prayer", "The First Noel", and "Joy to the World". Cover is beautifully preserved, with only the tiniest amount of wear-no splits, stains, tears, writing, etc. Disc (with red and silver "shaded dog" label) is clean and glossy, showing only a few extremely minor light marks. • Mathis, Johnny-Merry Christmas- LP- mono-Columbia CL1195 - 360 degree sound label, second of two covers, this one has Johnny seated, with skis and poles, in the snow, cover is extremely well preserved with no flaws, disc shows no appreciable groove wear with a few tiny marks and one more visible one (which does not affect play) on first track A side, nice copy overall! - (M/EXC+) - $13- Order

• Owens/Buck Owens and his Buckaroos-Christmas With Buck Owens and his Buckaroos- LP- stereo-Capitol ST 2396 - 1965 33 1/3 RPM 1st press LP release by Buck Owens. Unlike other Christmas albums, in which the artist often forsakes his usual style for Xmas schmaltz, Buck pulls off a double feat here by turning in an LP which not only sounds great in the classic Owens style, but features (almost all) original tunes with Xmas themes! Tracks include "Because It's Christmas Time," "Blue Christmas Tree," and the all-time classic (and Pop and Country chart hit) "Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy." Cover is extremely clean with only minor wear-1" piece of tape at top center edge-no stains, tears, splits, or writing. Disc (housed in original Capitol inner sleeve) is pressed on heavy vinyl with black "rainbow" color band label. Vinyl is clean, glossy, and Near Mint. • Squier, Billy-Christmas Is the Time to Say /White Christmas- 45- Stereo-Capitol S98325 - 1981 release 45 RPM Christmas single by Wellesley, MA Rock singer Billy Squier, best known for his 1984 smash "Rock Me Tonite." This release contains two Christmas rock tracks. A side is a Billy Squier original and the B side is, of course, the Irving Berlin classic. This is a Mint stock copy that appears to be unplayed. This was the Supremes Christmas album, issued at the peak of their popularity, each tune featuring the classic Motown sound. Tracks include "Jingle Bell Rock", "I'll Be Home For Christmas", and "My Christmas Love". Cover is extremely clean and uncreased, but unfortunately has (approx.) a one inch water stain along bottom edge of cover (visible in scan). However, cover still rates a decent VG+.
