Features former Professor Longhair drummer Earl Palmer, former Ray Charles bassist Edgar Willis, Wendell Perry of the Coasters, Delmar "Might Mouth" Evans, Plas Johnson, and several new Johnny Otis prodigies. 10 tracks, including "Why Don't You Do Right?," "Half Steppin' Woman," & "Every Beat of My Heart." Cover is very clean and Near Mint. Vinyl is glossy and also Near Mint. Scarce LP release!
Paul, Louis-Reflections of the Way it Really Is- LP- stereo-Enterprise/Stax ENS-1034 - 1973 33 1/3 RPM LP release by Memphis, TN session guitarist and vocalist, Louis Paul. Paul, a boyhood friend of Elvis Presley, has extensive playing experience with a who's who of Rock and Soul musicians, including Hank Ballard, Sam Cooke, Roy Head, Dr. John, Duane Eddy, Albert King, and many more. He toured with Ronny and the Daytonas and formed a successful Garage band called the Guilloteens. in 1972, he signed with Stax and this LP, a stylistic mix of Rock and Soul, was the result. All tracks original, ranging in sound from Blue Eyed Soul, to 70's Pop, to Blues-Rock, to Funk-Rock. Standout tracks include "Leave the Door Where You Found It" (guitar instro with Funk groove) and "The Stars" (mellow 70's Soul groove). Cover (2 slightly messy punch holes at top left) still in shrink. Disc is Mint. N/A on CD.

Powell, Bobby-Your Good, Good Loving / I'm Going to Win- 45- Stereo-Excello EX 2339 - 1973 release 45 RPM single by R&B Soul Singer Bobby Powell on the excellent Excello label. Powell was a blind singer, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who had several memorable though minor hits on the Whit label in the mid-60s. This hard-to-find single finds Bobby digging into the 70s Soul/Funk sound. A side is strutting uptempo Soul with pumping bass and brass. B side is great mid-tempo Funk track with great drum breaks. Vinyl is clean, glossy and Near Mint. Beautiful copy!

Reeves, Martha and the Vandellas-Ridin' High- LP- stereo-Gordy GS 926 - 1968 33 1/3 rpm LP release by Motown Soul group, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas. Copy at hand is still sealed!! Includes 5 pop hits: "Honey Chile", "I Promise to Wait My Love", "Forget Me Not", "(We've Got) Honey Love", and "Love Bug Leave My Heart Alone". Top right corner is cut away in a semi-circle to mark it as a cutout. Back cover shrink has receded slightly, resulting in very minor wear to a small patch of cover (cover is 90% MINT). Disc within is, of course, 100% new and unused.
Rockingham/David Rockingham Trio-Midnight/Bee Dee (NM '64 Josie 45/7")- 45- mono-Josie 917 - 1964 45 rpm 7" single by The David Rockingham Trio, consisting of organist/bandleader, David Rockingham, guitarist/producer, Bobby Robinson, and drummer, Shante Hamilton. The group's biggest success came in 1962 with the #62 Pop hit, "Dawn". A side of this single, "Midnight", was a very modest success, showing up on the 'Bubbling Under" chart at #119. (This probably indicates a regional success.) Sound of the group is soulful & funky organ combo Jazz with lots of interplay between the organ & guitar in the classic ACID JAZZ style. Both sides are excellent, but "Midnight" is more uptempo and really smokes. Vinyl has high gloss and a wholly unscratched surface. Album was produced by Quin Ivy at Muscle Shoals studios with great players like Jimmy Johnson, David Hood, Barry Beckett, and Roger Hawkins. Tracks include "Walkin' In The Sun," "The Good Love," and the hit title song, "I'll Be Your Everything." Cover (promo sticker on front) has clean front with very slightly heavier ringwear-no stains, splits, tears, or writing. Disc (cream-colored label with "promotion-not for sale") is clean, glossy, and Mint. Not available on CD.

Tams/The Tams-Time For the Tams- LP- mono-ABC 596 - 1967 33 1/3 rpm LP release by Atlanta Soul quartet, The Tams. The Tams offered an interesting mix of early Soul with material typically written by white Southern Country songwriters, producing an interesting and popular fusion. The group also holds a hallowed position in the annals of Carolina Beach Music. Songwriters on this LP include Joe South (producer of this album), Mac Davis, Freddy Weller, Ray Whitley and Tommy Roe. Although no chart hits resulted from this LP, it is a solid outing in their classic style. Tracklist:

Tee, Willie-I'd Give It to You / I'd Give It to You- 45- stereo-United Artists-UA-XW910 - 1976 release 45 RPM promo 7" (the same song is featured on both sides) by New Orleans soulman Willie Tee, best known for his 1965 hit "Teasin' You." This side is an excellent mid-tempo funk number with brass, pumping bass, great drumming and that unmistakable New Orleans R&B sound. Comes in a stock UA sleeve. The disc-from an unplayed DJ collection-is clean, glossy and Mint (clean labels on both sides).
Temptations-1990- LP- stereo-Gordy/Motown G 996V1 - 1973 33 1/3 RPM LP release by The Temptations. Excellent early 70's Soul Funk LP by the group with some Psychedelic Soul sounds on some tracks. Group at this time included Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Dennis Edwards and Ricky Owens. Backing was provided by a band that included the famous Funk Brothers crew, as well as members of Rose Royce. Also includes the extended social commentary, "Zoom" which combines a trippy vibe with spoken dialogue.
