  • Garland, Judy-same- LP- mono-Metro M505 - MGM recordings, w/"Boy Next Door", "Meet Me in St Louis" etc, 1965 rel - (shrink/NM-) - $10- Order

  • Garland, Judy-The Letter- LP- Stereo-Capitol STAO1188 - Black label with colorband. 1st (and only?) pressing, 1959. This is the rarer stereo edition, and yes, it does have the letter! Original owner has neatly opened envelope on cover, and replaced letter-often envelope and letter are missing! Gatefold cover is very clean-small area where sticker was removed, creasing of bottom corner & 2" seam split. Disc is clean but for one small mark on side 2 which causes a slight popping for about 10 revolutions. This is quite an interesting concept album, conducted by Gordon Jenkins. John Ireland serves as the narrator, playing Judy's estranged lover, who writes her a letter reminiscing about their love affair, it's breakup, and finally asking to return (sob!)-and then Judy sings a song in answer. We haven't seen one of these with the letter and in good shape for many years! - (NM-/EXC+) - $40- Order

  • Garland, Judy ('59 Stereo Orig. w/"letter")-"The Letter"- LP- stereo-Capitol STAO 1188 - 1959 33 1/3 RPM LP release by Judy Garland. Album at hand is the "holy grail" of Judy Garland LP collectibles! This was a "concept" album, with music and lyrics by the great Gordon Jenkins, which had each song advancing a unique story line. Basic premise is of two lovers who meet, fall in love, quarrel and part, and ends with a plea to return. Film Noir actor John Ireland reads "the letter aloud" while Judy sings her part. Tracks include "Beautiful Trouble", "Charley's Blues" and "Come Back". Gatefold cover has an envelope glued on, and YES! the original letter (almost always missing) IS present! Cover super clean-grading Near Mint Minus (2" seam split at top right). Dics (black "rainbow" colorband label is Near Mint. Desirable stereo edition as well.
