- Bobs, The-The Bobs- LP- stereo-Kaleidoscope F-18 - 1983 33 1/3 RPM LP release. 1st LP by San Francisco acappella group, the
Bobs. Music was, in a sense, New Wave acappella, with lots of originals by
the groups' songwriting team, Gunnar "Bob" Madsen and Richard "Bob" Greene.
Lead-off track, "Art For Art's Sake" was so catchy that it grabbed some
airplay despite it being an acappella track. The Bobs' cover version of
Helter Skelter won a grammy for the group.

- Four Sergeants-Songs of Freedom- LP- Mono-ABC-Paramount ABC 263 - (Approx.) 1955 release, 33 1/3 RPM LP by the Four Sergeants vocal group. LP at hand is all patriotic songs. Tracks on this LP include " Battle Hymn of the Republic", "La Marseillaise", and "Onward Christian Soldiers". Glossy cover is remarkably clean and grades Near Mint. Disc (heavy vinyl-black label with silver print and multicolor soundwave logo at top) is clean, glossy, and grdes Near Mint.

Ceylonese soprano takes Annie Ross' place on this LP (she left the group in '62). Album was recorded live in concert at the Village Gate. Group is backed by some great players: The Gildo Mahones Trio (Mahones, George Tucker, Jimmie Smith), plus Thad Jones and Booker Ervin! Track Listing: 1. - Moran, Pat / Pat Moran Quartet-Self-titled- LP- Mono-Bethlehem (Japan) PAP-23031(M) - 33 1/3 RPM Japanese LP reissue of a rare 1956 Jazz Vocal LP by the Pat Moran Quartet, originally released on Bethlehem records. Jazz vocal groups of the this type consist almost always of vocalists only, but this group is unusual in that 3 out of the four vocalists play instruments as well. The result is cool 50s vocal Jazz in the setting of an excellent piano trio. The line up includes Pat Moran (Vocals and piano), Bev Kelly (vocal), John Doling (vocal and bass) & Johnny Whited (vocal and drums). Tracks include "I Should Care", "Have You Met Miss Jones", "Sunday Kind of Love" & "Pick Yourself Up." Cover is Near Mint. No splits, tears, heavy creases, stains or writing! Disc is clean, glossy & Mint.

- Smart Set-Informally Yours- LP- stereo-WB 1258 - 1959 33 1/2 rpm LP release by Jazz vocal group, The Smart Set. Although they did achieve moderate popularity, this was their second and last LP. Group consisted of 3 girls and 1 guy, and performed on many radio shows from the 40's to early 60's. They are still remembered today by a few for singing the Halo Shampoo commercial jingle ("Halo, Everybody, Halo". Track listing: Lonesome Road/Careless/Hooray For Love/Lover, Come Back to Me/It's a Lonesome Old Town/It's All Right With Me/Sunday Kind of Love/I Hear Music/Mean to Me/Come to Me/Nice Work If You Can Get It/5 Foot 2, Eyes of Blue. Sound of the group is cool, but swinging. LP was produced by Alvino Rey, and features some fine players like Benny Carter & Red Norvo.
