- Washington, Dinah-Dinah Washington in the Land of Hi-Fi- LP- Mono-Emarcy MG-36073 - 1956 release, 33 1/3 LP by vocalist Dinah Washington backed by Hal Mooney and his orchestra. Mooney's arrangements make for more of a Pop LP than a Jazz release, but Mooney does not drown Washington in a sea of strings by any means. The arrangements vary from Swing to Latin with Jazz pianist Junior Mance stepping up out of the mix in a few places. Tracks include "There'll Be a Jubilee", "Let's Do It" & "If I Were a Bell." Cover (with handsome laminated photo on front) is remarkably well-preserved showing only the tiniest amount of wear at the bottom right corner. Disc (blue & silver Emarcy label with drummer logo) is clean, glossy and Near Mint. As we recently noticed that vinyl has mild warp (does NOT affect play), we have drastically reduced the price of this item. Plays clean with little or no surface noise.
