- Carroll, David-Latin Percussion- LP- Stereo-Mercury PPS 6000 - (Approx.) 1961 release by composer-arranger David Carroll, who made a long series of records for Mercury, many of which are notable for having what today is prized as a true "Lounge" sound. LP at hand has a Latin theme and includes "In a Little Spanish Town Cha-Cha", "Bijou" & "Besame Mucho." Handsome, glossy gatefold cover is near-perfect. Disc (blue label with silver print) is Mint. This LP was recorded in the excellent "Perfect Presence Sound" format (successor to Mercury's "Living Presence" Stereo process) reknowned for its audiophile-quality Stereo mix. Nice lounge piece with great cover! Click Here To View Item - (NM/M) - $9.99- Order
- Costa, Don-Echoing Voices and Trombones- LP- stereo-United Artists WWS 8501 - (Approx.) 1963 33 1/3 RPM LP release by producer/arranger Don Costa. LP at hand was clearly made to feed the early 60's demand for records to showcase the new stereo sound, and does the job well. Music heard here is what we would today call Space Age Pop & Lounge, using a Big Band (NO strings!), a great "wordless" vocal chorus, a big trombone section, and (of course) lots of stereo percussion effects! Allstar session players include Terry Snyder, Bucky Pizzarelli, Al Caiola & Urbie Green. Tracks are all standards, like "Deed I Do", "Thou Swell" & "Day In Day Out". LP features the rich sound of UA's "Wall to Wall Stereo" process, which is very near audiophile quality in our opinion. Glossy cover shows some water stains (see our scan) but is otherwise clean. Disc is clean, glossy & Near Mint. Plays clean w/only minor surface noise & clear sound.Click Here To View Item - (EXC/NM) - $7.99- Order

This volume credits one Susan Brown as artist, and features original Folk-styled compositions: one side vocal, one side "unworded vocals. - Denny, Martin-Exotica Volume One: The Exciting Sounds of Martin Denny- Reel to Reel- stereo-Liberty LT 7034 - 1958 4 track 7 1/2 IPS reel to reel tape by Martin Denny. This is Denny's very first album, with some of his finest output. While not the very first exponent of "Exotica", Denny and his group (working live at a club in Hawaii) developed a unique, densely layered musical style using exotic percussion, fake bird (human-voiced) & animal sounds, set to Polynesian, Asian & other exotic melodies. Denny's great version of Les Baxter's "Quiet Village" was a #4 Pop hit. Album as a whole is highly enjoyable & a rich stereo experience for the audiophile! Track listing: 1.Quiet Village 2.Return To Paradise 3.Hong Kong Blues 4.Busy Port 5.Lotus Land 6.Similau 7.Stone God 8.Jungle Flower 9.China Nights 10.Ah Me Furi 11.Waipo 12.Love Dance. - Electric Moog Orchestra-Music From Star Wars- LP- stereo-Musicor MUS-8801 - 1977 33 1/3 RPM LP release by the Electric Moog Orchestra. LP was a blatant
cash-in on the Star Wars phenomenon as well as the Moog craze of the 70's.
Group performs 6 tracks from the original Star Wars soundtrack by John
Williams. Sound of LP actually is quite good, combining Rock, Funk, and
Orchestral Moog effects. Band jams on the tracks with excellent flair
(sounds like real guitar and drums, with all other instruments played on
Moog synthesizers). Highlights include "Imperial Attack" (good beats and
breaks on this one), "Main Title" and "Princess Leia's Theme." Cover shows
moderate ringwear-no writing, tears, stains, or splits. Disc grades Near
Mint. N/A on CD.Click Here To View Item - (EXC/NM) - $9.99- Order

Green had a long career in the British music industry, w/over 150 film scores to his credit. LP at hand was one of the few issued in the U.S., on Jaro International-a subsidiary of Top Rank. LP is a solid effort in the orchestra Exotica genre, using a big band orchestra with strings (some tracks have a Lounge feel w/vibes). Song selection features famous compositions about winged creatures "Poor Butterfly", "Call of the Wild Goose", "Skylark", etc. Cover shows moderate wear w/small ink stamp on back.
