  • Lakatos, Sandor and his Gypsy orchestra-Gypsy King in Hi Fi- LP- Mono-Artia ALP 111 - 1960 release, handsome and very old international record, glossy gatefold cover features photo of attractive and sultry woman (presumably a gypsy!), 2 page insert on inside talks about gypsy and Hungarian music, LP is subtitled "Authetic Folk Songs and Dances of Hungary", these recordings were leased from Supraphon in Europe, and are indeed quite authentic and well recorded, various strings, cymbalom, clavinet, and vocals are present, notes indicate that at the time, Lakatos and his Orch. were the reigning kings of gypsy music in Hungary, and held a nightly gig at Buddapest's Astoria bar, cover is near-perfect, as is the disc - (M/NM+) - $10- Order

  • Soviet Army Chorus and Band-conducted by Colonel Boris Alexandrov- Reel to Reel- stereo-Angel ZS 35411 - (Approx.) 1963 4 track 7 1/2 IPS reel to reel tape, featuring the Soviet Army Chorus & Band. This is a classic recording from the Angel Records label which was a very popular title for many years. Song selection is a mix of army, Folk and contemporary-to-the-time songs by Soviet composers, as well as Classical choral works by Russian and West European composers. Track listing: Song of Youth, Kalinka Far Away, Volga Boat Song, You Are Always Beautiful, Along Peter's Street, Tipperary, A Birch Tree In a Field Did Stand, Bandura, Oh No! John!, Snow Flakes, Ukranian Poem, Soldier's Chorus .Box is intact with strong corners. Only faint wear to box, with no, tears, writing, etc. Tape is in Near Mint condition.
