• Anarchic System-Pop Corn- 45- stereo-AZ Disc (France) SG 397 - 1972 45 RPM 7" release by Anarchic System. Great European cover version of "Popcorn" by Hot Butter (note that the 2 versions have slightly different spellings of the song title), which was the ground-breaking Moog Pop song. This disc offers a vocal and instrumental version of the song-vocal version has processed vocal. Both versions are a little wilder and much more danceable than the Hot Butter version. Sound of record could be described as Electronic Disco-Pop (this version is quite funky with very active drums). Glossy P/S cover grades EXC+ with only minor wear-no stains, tears, splits, or writing. Disc (blue label with black print-large center hole) shows faint light marks but no serious scratches of any kind. Plays nicely with clear sound and only minor surface noise. • Atlanta Rhythm Section-Another Man's Woman (It's So Hard)/ Earnestine- 45- Stereo-Decca 32948 - 1972 release, yellow label Promo 45 by the Atlanta Rythm Section, who had their biggest hit in 1977 with "So Into You." The group, comprised of studio musicians, has an interesting history. Some were Roy Orbison's Candymen and others were in the Classics IV. Disc is mint and glossy. This was one of the group's biggest hits from their self-titled first album, which was loaded with hit singles. Disc has same song on both sides in mono & stereo mixes. • Bags/The Bags-Hide and Seek/I Know- 45- stereo-Stanton Park Records STP-013 - 1989 seven inch 45 RPM record with picture sleeve by The Bags. The Bags pretty much RULED the Boston rock scene from their formation in 1985 to their breakup in 1991. (They have reformed in recent years and are active today again.) Sound of the band is a wild mix of Punk, Psych, and Metal, with comparisons to The Ramones, Blue Cheer, Husker Du, and early Kiss all being in order. This was the band's first single. Sound of the disc is somewhat unique, but may be called Punk Metal in lieu of a lenghty analysis. Copy at hand does in fact have a "Hey Jude" cover and a "Beatles Again" disc. (Note: catalog # for cover is SW 385-disc @ is SO 385.) Second of 2 EP's with music from the first Beatles movie, "A Hard Day's Night", both originally issued in 1964. Copy at hand is a 1970's pressing-in beautiful condition-which is identical in every way to earlier pressings except for a few tiny print details on the label of the disc. Disc offers a nice mini-selection of early Beatles songs. Track listing: Any Time At All, I'll Cry Instead, Things We Said Today, When I Get Home. • Beck, Jeff / Jeff Beck Group-Got the Feeling (WLP DJ copy)- 45- Mono/Stereo-Epic 5-10814 - 1971 release, Promo-only DJ 45 by the Jeff Beck Group. This DJ white label promo disc was intended to push "Got the Feeling" as a hit single. Although this did not happen, the track is nevertheless a great fusion of Rock and Funk (Bob Tench vocal) with wah wah guitar by Jeff Beck and dynamic piano by Max Middleton. Creme & Godley also use this set to showcase a device called the Gizmotron, which attaches to a guitar and produces some weird, haunting sounds! Set features guest vocals by Sarah Vaughan and narration and comedy by Peter Cook. Set is housed in heavy cardboard hinged box.
