• King Biscuit Boy With Crowbar-Official Music- LP- stereo-Paramount PAS 5030 - 1970 33 1/3 RPM LP release by King Biscuit Boy, AKA Canadian Bluesman (harp and vocals), Richard Newell. Newell got his start, as many did, with Ronnie Hawkins and his band the Hawks. After going solo, he joined forces with Crowbar, which was made up of ex-Hawks. LP at hand was his debut album, which was well received, charting in both the U.S. and Canada. The single "Corrina Corrina" was a minor hit in Canada as well. Music is a hard-driving mix of Blues standards ("Hoy Hoy Hoy," "Don't Go No Further") and originals ("Cookin' Little Baby," "Biscuit's Boogie"). This was Larsen's first solo project, and the sound of the album is more Dylan-esque Folk/Rock than the Stones & Small Faces sound of Gasolin'. Tunes include "Nanna" & "Sylvester's Drom". Original Eagles member Bernie Leadon was perhaps the group's most underrated and valuable player from 1972 through 1975, as he alternated between vocals, guitar (acoustic, electric, and pedal steel), banjo, and mandolin, in addition to lending a hand with songwriting.
