A side (produced by Joe South) is an interesting mix of Soul & Rock with snarling vocal delivery and a garage-rock edge. B side (produced by Billy Joe Royal) is a Gene Pitney-style Pop ballad. - Slick, Grace & the Great Society-How it Was Vol. 2- LP- stereo-Columbia CS 9702 - 1968 33 1/3 RPM LP release by Grace Slick and the Great Society. Pre-Jefferson Airplane recording by Slick. The Great Society was best-known for having the original version of the Airplane's 1st 2 big hits, "Somebody to Love," and "White Rabbit." LP at hand contains previously unreleased recordings by the group in the style of San Francisco Psychedelic Rock, showing a young Grace Slick developing her vocal style. Tracks include "Darkly Smiling," "Daydream Nightmare," and "Nature Boy." Cover is Near Mint-no stains, tears, splits, or writing.
