Bags/The Bags-Hide and Seek/I Know- 45- stereo-Stanton Park Records STP-013 - 1989 seven inch 45 RPM record with picture sleeve by The Bags. The Bags pretty much RULED the Boston rock scene from their formation in 1985 to their breakup in 1991. (They have reformed in recent years and are active today again.) Sound of the band is a wild mix of Punk, Psych, and Metal, with comparisons to The Ramones, Blue Cheer, Husker Du, and early Kiss all being in order. This was the band's first single. Sound of the disc is somewhat unique, but may be called Punk Metal in lieu of a lenghty analysis. Picture sleeve (marked "13 of 1000" in pen on back) shows disc outline and moderate creasing to bottom right corner. Disc is MINT and unplayed.
Big Chief-Platinum Jive: Greatest Hits 1969-1999- LP- stereo-Capitol Records Ė C1 7243 8 27302 1 7 - 1994 33 1/3 rpm LP picture disc by Ann Arbor, Michigan rockers, Big Chief. Calling this LP a 20 year 'greatest hits' collection was a bit of an inside joke. All the tracks were in fact newly recorded, the band had not been around nearly that long, and 6 of the years claimed had not even happened yet, as it was still 1994. Sound of the band is high-energy Rock, with some funky elements at times. Some have called their sound, 'stoner grunge'. Track listing: Lionís Mouth, Takeover Baby, Johnís Scared, M.D. 20/20, Map of Your Failure, Bona Fide, Armed Love, Philly Nocturne, Locked Out, All Downhill From Here, The Liquor Talkiní, Sick to My Pants, Your Days Are Numbered, Clown Pimp, Simply Barry, Lot Lizard. Glossy gatefold cover (cut corner at top right) is extremely clean. Bottom right corner is creased about 2 inches in on the diagonal. The picture disc vinyl has a crumpled tinfoil image, and is in Near Mint condition.

Bobs, The-The Bobs- LP- stereo-Kaleidoscope F-18 - 1983 33 1/3 RPM LP release. 1st LP by San Francisco acappella group, the
Bobs. Music was, in a sense, New Wave acappella, with lots of originals by
the groups' songwriting team, Gunnar "Bob" Madsen and Richard "Bob" Greene.
Lead-off track, "Art For Art's Sake" was so catchy that it grabbed some
airplay despite it being an acappella track. The Bobs' cover version of
Helter Skelter won a grammy for the group.

DMZ-DMZ- LP- stereo-Sire SRK 6051 - 1978 33 1/3 RPM LP. Legendary major label release by Boston's own DMZ, headed by vocalist/organist Jeff Conolly ("Mono Mann") w/Peter Greenberg, JJ Rassler, Rick Corraccio, & Paul Murphy. LP, produced by Flo & Eddie, regrettably was a commercial flop. DMZ was succeeded by the Lyres, who continue to reign as kings of garage-fueled Punk. The music is classic 1977 (OK, 1978!) Punk, topped by Connolly's Farfisa & Greenberg's primal lead guitar. Tracks include "Bad Attitude," "Destroyer," "Cinderella"
(Sonics classic) & "Border Line." Cover is still encased in
original shrinkwrap-90% intact. Cover is near-perfect w/only the tiniest bit of wear to the 2 exposed right corners. Disc (yellow label w/black print) is clean, glossy, & Near Mint. Plays clean w/almost no surface noise a&rich sound. Classic Boston Garage-Punk LP from DMZ-N/A on CD!
Dogmatics-Gimme The Shakes/20 Flight Rock- 45- stereo-CAT 001 - 1984 45 rpm 7" vinyl single by Boston Garage Punk band, The Dogmatics. Band was a staple of the late 70's and 80's Punk scene. Sound of the band had a lot of Ramones influence, but they also loved to do raw covers of 1950's material by the likes of Eddie Cochran & Bo Diddley, among others. A side of this single starts out with Ramones-style groove, then into a hot guitar solo, then some bass-drums interplay, then a sax comes in. B side is a fairly straight ahead version of the Eddie Cochran classic. Sleeve is clean but shows wear & small tears along top edge. Disc is super clean & glossy with just one light mark on B side-grades Excellent Plus.
