U.S. ORDERS-PRIORITY MAIL: LP'S, 78'S, REEL TO REEL & VHS

Priority Mail rates are calculated by postal zone, as defined by USPS, and weight. The chart (as of 4/22/15) below shows Priority Mail charges per single item LP, 78, Reel-to-reel or VHS, with rates quoted for packages weighing less than 1 pound and less than 2 pounds. USPS Priority does NOT graduate the charges ounce by ounce. (For example, a package weighing 1 lb, 1oz, would fall in the ‘less than 2 lbs’ class.) THESE RATES ARE APPROXIMATE due to frequent price changes by USPS, and variation in item weight.

*Please be aware that Media Mail can sometimes be VERY slow to arrive, so be prepared to wait much longer than the 3 to 5 day delivery time of Priority Mail. On the other hand, sometimes Media Mail moves very quickly in a matter of days or a week's time. The point here is that Media Mail has NO PRIORITY in the USPS system, so we can offer no firm guideline for delivery time

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: ALL TYPES OF MERCHANDISE

As of January, 2012, worldwide international shipping rates were raised dramatically and a complicated 9 zone rate system was put into place. Rates are calculated by exact shipping weight, the shipping zone by country name. Sometimes the size of the package-if it is large-is a factor as well. Formerly, we could set fixed rates that would cover our shipping costs at a fair price to our customers. Today, an average weight LP shipping to Canada at a weight of 1 lb would cost us $16.75 (plus packing materials). That same package going to Japan, however, would cost us $14.63 (plus materials). If that LP was heavier than average (1950's thick vinyl, or a gatefold cover or both), weighing 1.4 lbs when packed, the cost to Canada would be $12.35 and to Japan $18.60. 

In the interest of the fairest pricing possible, we currently calculate shipping on an individual basis, depending on exact weight and the destination country. Basic shipping rates for international orders are exact cost plus $1.00 for our packing materials and handling costs. For larger orders requiring more packaging, we sometimes charge an additional dollar or two.
